It’s honestly like Travis was reading my mind.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I was just thinking about how the ATS-V and CTS-V are basically the M3 and M5 we wanted but didn’t get from BMW. Heck the new CTS-V even gets a Corvette engine just like the old BMW M cars had tried and true sports car engines. Sure the interior could be nicer but that’s not exactly the point of these cars is it?

Then I thought about how it was kind of a bummer that they didn’t use the LT1 in the ATS-V as it would have created a wonderful sports car to luxury performance relationship

Stingray engine = ATS-V engine

Z06 engine = CTS-V engine

But then Travis posted

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

And made a solid argument for the TTV6.

Now the only thing that bums me is knowing that this is the last ATS-V and CTS-V. It stinks that these are such great cars and getting good reviews but they’re going to kill off the names and have to start all over again...

The V siblings for your time

All except for the engine in the ATS-V. I was expecting a V8 if i’m honest and while the V6 turbo does the job it is lifeless and even less of an experience than the M3’s.

And I agree completely, BMW has been dethroned.

According to Motor Trend, Cadillac still has to catch the C63.

Why are these going to the be the last of the ATS-V and CTS-V? And why are they going to kill off the names?

I felt the same way, and the only thing I disagree with Travis about the TTV6 is that it doesn’t give a stronger sporting token to the ATS-V. Knowing that your compact Luxury sedan has a Corvette engine in it I think would help sales and would probably have allowed it to win the MotorTrend comparo.

All future generations of Cadillac cars will follow the CT6 naming structure so ATS will probably turn into the CT3 and the CTS will probably be the CT5, so says the CEO of Cadillac.

As to why they are killing off these names, I got nothing. Calling the CT6 the STS or ZTS would have been perfectly acceptable.

To be honest my only real gripe with the C63 and all the other AMGs that are coming out is that they all have S versions too. It feels like Spinal Tap to me, AMG is like “these go to 11” and everyone else is saying why didn’t you just make the S the normal AMG model?

I’ll just have to swap my own V8 in!

Oh right, completely forgot about the new naming system they are switching to. What I really wish is that they would go back to real names like Deville, Eldorado, etc. Alphanumerics don't make a car sell better.

Not everyone likes going to 11. To some people, 10.5 is more than enough.

I don’t think calling the ATS the Cimarron or Catera would go over well.

Well obviously they’d have to find a new name for the ATS. Cimarron and Catera bring bad memories back for some people.

Why is it less of an experience than the M3?

Yeah, I didn’t expect that at all from the C63.

Exactly, also I feel Cadillacs deserve V8’s.

Engine-wise, it doesn’t have a very distinctive sound (not a bad sound by any means). Overall it is the sportiest car of the three and it out M3’d the M3. The engine IMO is just not that special to me.

I guess I'm just trying to understand how this engine is any worse than the BMW. The BMW engine is just as bland imo

One thing I can agree, neither are V8s.
